Sword
The sword in Tai Chi is taught as a refined, precise and light tool. It sharpens line, attention, posture and quality of clean movement, and asks for a calm presence even in sharp action.
Working with a sword develops a sense of length, direction and continuous movement from the center to the edge. Every little detail has an effect: grip, breath, look, step and the ability to remain soft even in clear movement.
Patterns, transitions, precise stops and flow are practiced in it, out of respect for tradition and out of a desire to develop concentration and ease at the same time.
The main points of the practice
- Developing precision, lightness and a clear line of movement.
- Improving eye-hand contact, timing and breathing.
- Deepening the principles of Tai Chi through a traditional tool.
- A practice that combines softness, sharpness and presence.
